The Café 16 Project: The Inspiring Team at Northumbria University

13th August 2018 • Cafe 16, News Posts

A team of students from Northumbria University have done an amazing job recently producing a report of recommendations for the opening of Café 16, the proposed café to be established at HMP Northumberland for prison staff and visitors. The Café, once established, is expected to provide opportunities for Oswinners still in prison to learn baking and hospitality skills and undergo barista training. The team from Northumbria University  created a feasibility report, developed a brand image for the Café and provided recommendations for a comprehensive structured marketing approach. The students involved, who are studying a range of subjects including Marketing, Finance and Investment Management and Travel and Tourism Management were: Ben Chumra, Francesca Pellizon, Hannah De Koning-Teasdale and John Ellis.
