Oswin Project has a vacancies for new trustees, preferably with business and/or fundraising experience.
The key belief underlying Oswin Project’s operations is that everybody deserves a second chance and that a spell in prison ought not to blight life chances for all time. By mentoring and supporting the training of offenders we offer work opportunities in our prison cafe and other projects mainly around the Northumberland /Tyneside Region providing a stepping stone to job placements. We are able to demonstrate a good level of success in helping individuals to turn their lives around and are now looking to expand our operations.
Our trustees are expected to attend board meetings four to five times a year, and will also sit on one of the Charity sub-committees. The new Trustee must be comfortable about occasional visits to prison and meeting both prisoners working towards release and ex-prisoners.
Applications will be welcomed from those working within the judicial system as well as from the business arena or those involved social enterprises.
If you would like to join us and be part of something that helps to create second chances for ex-offenders.
